About & Contact
Jennie Webber is an artist, illustrator and amateur taxidermist. Her practice is based upon the fact that truth is stranger than fiction, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the natural world. Taking inspiration from the depths of the ocean, evolution and complex ecosystems; Jennie produces illustrations for clients such as the Guardian, Quarto and Playboy.
Jennie’s etchings and drawings celebrate the diversity and complexity of nature, reflecting her incurable curiosity for flora and fauna. Themes of conservation underpin each piece; the idea being that if people are amazed by the natural world, then they will be more inclined to save it.
In 2014 Jennie founded Wild Life Drawing, a drawing class with a difference. Instead of human life models, the subjects are real animals. Their aim is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for animals through creativity and to raise awareness of conservation issues around the globe.
